BACK TO BACK, TWICE AS NICE — The Lawrence County Youth Football League B-Team Bulldogs won the 2025 Turf Bowl championship at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards Stadium, Saturday, Nov. 15. They beat the Buffalo Bisons in a convincing fashion 30-0. This marks history for the LCYFL. The B-team is made up of 9 and 10 year olds. Both of these groups have played in 4 straight Turf Bowl championships and have both won 2 of them. The 9 year olds are the first two division (C and B) Turf Bowl champions in LCYFL history and the 10 year olds are the first ever back to back champions in LCYFL history. The B-Team went a perfect 8-0 in the regular season and the 2nd group went a perfect 11-0 on the season. The Bulldogs finished outsourcing their opponents 216-6 on the year.

The Bulldogs started the scoring early on Saturday when Lucas Block connected with Tucker Dixon on a 12-yard touchdown pass and catch. Brooks Parker added the 2- point conversion and made the score 8-0 with 0:05 left in the first quarter.

On their next possession, the Bulldogs started on their own 4-yard line before marching 96 yards for their next score. Tucker Dixon, again, caught a Lucas Block pass and took it to the house from 82-yards out. Colton Bentley added the 2-point conversion and made the score 16-0 with 2:35 left to go before the half.

The Bulldogs defense held strong keeping the Bisons out of the endzone all game with 2 stops inside the 5-yard line. The third quarter was much of the same. The Bulldogs started their first possession of the 2nd half on their 31-yard line. The Bulldogs drove down the field and punched it in with a 1-yard Lucas Block touchdown run. The two-point conversion failed and set the score at 22-0 with left to go in the 3rd quarter.

The Bulldogs finished off the game in the 4th quarter with a record breaking 99-yard touchdown by Lucas Block after a goal line stand. Lucas Block took the snap and raced 99 yards for the last touchdown of the game.
