Fetherolf leads Bulldogs to win over Pirates

LOUISA — Quarterback Luke Fetherolf led Lawrence County over Powell County 48-13 in a Class 3A, District 8 game at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Field on Friday, Oct. 18.
Lawrence County improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in Class 3A, District 8 after registering the win.
As a result of the loss, Powell County dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in Class 3A, District 8.
The Bulldogs won on Senior Night.
Lawrence County set the tone early. The Bulldogs outscored Powell County 42-7 in the first half.
Through the air, Fetherolf completed 11 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns.
On the ground, Fetherolf added one rushing touchdown.
Kaden Johnson supplied three receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns to lead Lawrence County in receiving.
Along with Johnson, Carlo Chicko and Braxton Davis provided multiple receptions for the Bulldogs.
Reaching the endzone on another scoring strike, Gray Derifield added a 64-yard touchdown pass reception in Lawrence County’s convincing victory.
Lawrence County rushed 24 times for 219 yards and four touchdowns. In addition to Fetherolf finding the endzone via the ground, Johnson, Mitchell Frazier and Connar York added one rushing touchdown apiece for the Bulldogs.
Lawrence County is scheduled to visit longtime rival Boyd County for a non-district game on Friday, Oct. 25.
