Ferguson, Short earn Class 3A, District 8 awards

LOUISA — Lawrence County senior linebacker/running back Dylan Ferguson and head coach Alan Short have earned the top Class 3A, District 8 awards for the 2022 high school football season.

Ferguson has been named the Class 3A, District 8 Player of the Year.

Short has been named the Class 3A, District 8 Coach of the Year.

Ferguson and Short earned the honors from the Kentucky Football Coaches Association (KFCA).

Leading Lawrence County throughout the 2022 high school football season, Ferguson rushed 164 times for 1,160 yards and 19 touchdowns. Ferguson delivered for the Bulldogs both offensively and defensively during his senior campaign.

Short guided Lawrence County to the Class 3A, District 8 title. Under Short’s direction, Lawrence County reached the second round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Playoffs. The Bulldogs concluded the 2022 high school football season 9-3.
