Feltner leads Lawrence County over West Carter 68-44

OLIVE HILL — Senior guard Kensley Feltner, a Kentucky Miss Basketball candidate, scored 26 points and claimed six rebounds to lead Lawrence County over West Carter 68-44 in a girls’ high school basketball season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Setting the tone early, Lawrence County outscored West Carter 16-6 in the first quarter. Lawrence County managed to double up West Carter 36-18 in the first half.
The Lady Bulldogs led 47-24 at the end of the third quarter.
Lawrence County shot 45.3 percent from the field (two-point and three-point field goals combined), connecting on 24 of 53 attempts.
Sophie Adkins accompanied Feltner in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs, netting 18 points.
Chipping in for Lawrence County, Kaison Ward scored six points while Lendra Curnutte and Emmallee Holt added four points apiece.
The other scorers for Lawrence County in the season-opening win were Caroline See (three points), Jada Patton (three points), Madison Artrip (two points) and Abby Nelson (two points).
