Feltner extends reached-base streak to 29 games

MOREHEAD — Morehead State freshman first baseman Jackson Feltner, a Lawrence County High School graduate, Feltner extended his reached-base streak to 29 games as the Eagles defeated visiting Murray State 11-6 in an Ohio Valley Conference baseball game at Allen Field on Sunday, May 2.

In addition, Feltner extended his hitting streak to an OVC-best 20 games. The Lawrence County High School graduate is one of the top freshman college baseball players in the national.

The Eagles (23-16) won three of four from the Racers (22-20) and have now topped Murray State in seven of the previous eight meetings.

Morehead State scored all of its runs in the second and fourth innings during the Ohio Valley Conference matchup on Sunday. Jon Burghardt hammered a three-run homer and a solo shot and tied his career high by going 4-for-4. Senior right-fielder Ryan Layne and freshman left-fielder Jacob Ferry also belted home runs for the Eagles in the Ohio Valley Conference win.

Currently, Morehead State is in first place in the Ohio Valley Conference.
