Bulldogs down Commodores 9-3

BUCKLEYS CREEK — Winning on the road, Lawrence County topped former 14th Region frontrunner Perry County Central 9-3 in a high school baseball game on Wednesday, April 28.

Lawrence County, a contender for the 2021 15th Region baseball title, claimed its eighth straight win to improve to 14-2.

Bryce Blevins earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. Blevins, a lefthander who is committed to the University of Kentucky, pitched four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out eight and walking zero.

Blue Fletcher threw three innings in relief for the Bulldogs. Fletcher recorded the last nine outs to claim the save.

Jacob Daniels took the pitching loss for Perry County Central. Daniels pitched five innings, allowing eight runs on 10 hits while striking out two.

Closing out the game on the mound for the Commodores, Dustin Fields pitched two innings in relief.

Lawrence County outhit Perry County Central 14-6 and committed only one error.

Blevins, Mason Preston and Abner Collinsworth each recorded multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Leading Lawrence County at the plate, Blevins and Preston tallied three hits apiece.

Aiding his pitching cause at the plate, Daniels drove in two of Perry County Central's three runs.

Defensively, Perry County Central committed four errors.
