Casting for Kids event to be held at Paintsville Lake

THE 10TH ANNUAL Casting for Kids Kentucky event kicked off in Lawrence County on Saturday, April 27, at Yatesville Lake with 160 boats participating. The top 30 boats participated at Paintsville Lake on Sunday, April 28. Out of 320 Anglers, 84-year old, Jay Newsome and his son, Stoney Newsome of Pike County took the title of the “Best Between the Lakes” champion with a two-day total of 26.02 pounds. The 10th Annual Casting for Kids Kentucky event and most importantly the “Nations Biggest” Fishing Kids Tournament will be held at beautiful Paintsville Lake located in Johnson County.

Day one of the event, Friday, May 31, is Evening to Shine for disabled wheelchair kids, special needs, autistic kids and sensory kids only. Check-in time is 5 p.m., with the fun beginning at 6 p.m.

Saturday morning, June 1, at 6:30 a.m., the Kylie’s Kid Foundation Kayak tournament (ages 13-18 years) will kick off events for the day, competing for prizes. Tournament will be from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

The event official kick-off will be at 9:30 a.m., to 1 p.m., for kids ages 4-12 years of age. Pre-register now at Casting4kids.net.

Paw Patrol will visit with the kids both days, Texas Roadhouse will provide the food for the kids. Water slide inflatables will also be set up for fun. All events are free.
