Bulldogs defeat Raiders 6-1

LOUISA — Behind solid pitching and hitting, Lawrence County defeated longtime rival East Carter 6-1 at Randy Keeton Field on Friday April 26.

Following the win, Lawrence County improved to 12-9.

Braxton Davis started on the mound for Lawrence County and claimed the win. Davis pitched six and two-thirds innings, recording six strikeouts.

Replacing Davis on the mound for Lawrence County, Talan Pollock pitched the final one-third on an inning.

Lawrence County scored six runs one eight hits. Pollock (one hit, two RBIs), Gray Derifield (two hits, one RBI), Logan Whisenant (one hit, one RBI), Boedy Maynard (one hit, one RBI), Cody Crum (one hit), Abner Collinsworth (one hit) and Eli Fletcher (one hit) each contributed offensively for the Bulldogs. Productive at the plate, Pollock homered and drove in two runs.

Pitching in relief for Lawrence County, Logan Whisenant earned the win.

Another reliever for the Bulldogs, Eli Fletcher, claimed the save.

Along with Whisenant and Fletcher, Tyger Cavins pitched in relief for the Bulldogs.

Gray Derifield started on the mound for Lawrence County and pitched three innings.

The four Lawrence County pitchers combined to record seven strikeouts.

Lawrence County scored seven runs on eight hits. Whisenant (one hit, one RBI), Fletcher (two hits, one RBI), Talan Pollock (two hits, four RBIs), Boedy Maynard (one hit), Cody Crum (one hit) and Abner Collinsworth (one hit) each produced at the plate in Lawrence County’s win. Excelling at the plate, Pollock homered twice for the Bulldogs.
