Cardinals to visit Floyd Central for scrimmage

INEZ — Martin County is scheduled to visit Floyd Central for a high school football scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 7.
The Cardinals, under the direction of head coach Josh Muncy, ended the 2020 high school football season 3-4. Shelby Valley held on to defeat Martin County 29-22 in the opening round of the 2020 Class 2A Playoffs.
Martin County competes in Class 2A, District 8. The Cardinals are scheduled to visit Leslie County for a season opener on Friday, Aug. 20.
Floyd Central, under the guidance of head coach Shawn Hager, ended the 2020 high school football season 2-4. The Jaguars missed out on advancing to the Class 3A Playoffs.
Floyd Central competes in Class 3A, District 8. The Jaguars are scheduled to visit East Ridge for a season opener on Friday, Aug. 20.
High school football teams from throughout the state are preparing to compete in scrimmages prior to the 2021 season kicking off in less than three weeks. Each team is allowed to participate in two scrimmages.
