INEZ — Martin County is ranked first in the Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Coaches Poll.

Since 2020, Martin County has won two 15th Region boys’ basketball titles.

Martin County is ranked ahead of Johnson Central, Pikeville, Pike County Central, Betsy Layne, Lawrence County, Floyd Central, Paintsville, Shelby Valley and Prestonsburg in the Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Coaches Poll.

Unranked, Magoffin County is the defending 15th Region boys’ basketball champion.

Martin County finished runner-up in the 2024-25 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament. The Cardinals compiled a 23-10 record in the 2023-24 boys’ high school basketball season. Head coach Jason James guides the Cardinals.
