PRESTONSBURG — Notching a 58th District win, Lawrence County defeated Prestonsburg 78-54 on Thursday, Dec. 16.

Lawrence County shot 34.6 percent (28 of 81) from the field and connected on eight of 28 three-point field-goal attempts.

Lawrence County shot 73.7 percent (14-of-19) from the free-throw line.

Controlling the backboards, Lawrence County pulled down 47 rebounds.

Lawrence County featured three scorers in double figures.

Cody Maynard scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs to the win. Accompanying Maynard in double figures in scoring for Lawrence County, Trenton Adkins netted 15 points and Will Lafferty added 10 points.

Narrowly missing double figures for the Bulldogs, Kaden Gillispie chipped in nine points.

Dawson Bellomy, who finished with five points, hauled in nine rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County is scheduled to host Prestonsburg for a 58th District boys' basketball game on Friday. Jan. 28, 2022.
