LOUISA — Shaking off a shutout loss to Shelby Valley from one week earlier, Lawrence County defeated Perry County Central 38-14 at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 1.

Following a scoreless first quarter, Lawrence County outscored Perry County Central 18-7 in the second period.

After leading 18-7 at halftime, Lawrence County extended its lead in the third quarter. The Bulldogs led 24-7 at the end of the third period.

Remaining in control, Lawrence County doubled up Perry County Central 14-7 in the fourth quarter.

Talon Pollock led Lawrence County to the win, completing 10 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns.

Kaden Johnson, Jake Derifield and Carlo Chicko each hauled in one touchdown pass reception for the Bulldogs.

Cody Crum paced Lawrence County on the ground, rushing 10 times for 103 yards and one touchdown.

In addition to Crum reaching the endzone, Pollock and Will McDavid added one rushing touchdown apiece for the Bulldogs.

McDavid ranked second in rushing for Lawrence County, delivering 72 yards on the ground.

The Bulldogs have regular season games remaining versus Harlan County, Estill County, Belfry, Magoffin County, Powell County, Boyd County and Mason County.

Lawrence County (2-1) has the week of Friday, Sept. 8 open. The Bulldogs are scheduled to visit Harlan County on Friday, Sept. 15.
