Bulldogs to kick off 2021 season at home vs. Harrison County

LOUISA — Lawrence County is scheduled to kick off the 2021 high school football season at home versus Harrison County on Friday, Aug. 20.
Following a loss to Belfry in the second round of the Class 3A Playoffs, Lawrence County concluded the 2020 high school football season 4-2.
Harrison County compiled a 5-3 record in the 2020 season.
In addition to Harrison County, Lawrence County has home games scheduled versus Russell, Magoffin County, East Carter, Boyd County and Floyd Central.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to visit Greenup County, Pike County Central, Belfry and Raceland for away games during the upcoming high school football season.
Lawrence County competes with perennial state title contender Belfry, Floyd Central, Magoffin County and Pike County Central in Class 3A, District 8.
Junior running back Dylan Ferguson is the top player set to return for the Bulldogs. Ferguson led Lawrence County throughout the 2020 high school football season, rushing 76 times for 500 yards and six touchdowns in five games.
Producing as a team on the ground in 2020, Lawrence County averaged 223.8 rushing yards and 3.4 rushing touchdowns per game.
Lawrence County will open preseason practice in July.
