Bulldogs to host Harlan County

LOUISA — After an open week, Lawrence County is set to host Harlan County for its next game in the 2024 high school football season on Friday, Sept. 20.
Lawrence County and Harlan County, non-district rivals, met during the 2023 high school football season. The Bulldogs defeated the Black Bears 44-20 on Sept. 15, 2023.
Lawrence County is 2-1. The Bulldogs posted back-to-back wins over Rowan County and Shelby Valley before falling to Perry County Central.
Lawrence County, under the direction of Coach Alan Short, competes in Class 3A, District 8.
Harlan County is 1-2. The Black Bears beat Middlesboro in a season opener before suffering back-to-back losses to Hazard and Whitley County.
Harlan County, under the guidance of Coach Jacob Saylor, competes in Class 5A, District 8.
Lawrence County has regular season games remaining versus Harlan County, Estill County, Belfry, Magoffin County, Powell County, Boyd County and Mason County.
Harlan County has regular season games remaining versus Lawrence County, Pikeville, Southwestern, South Laurel, Pulaski County, North Laurel and Bell County.
Kickoff for the Lawrence County-Harlan County game is slated for 7:30 p.m.
