Bulldogs slated to visit Greenup County

LOUISA — Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Greenup County for its second game in the 2021 high school football season on Friday, Sept. 3.
The Bulldogs pulled away to defeat visiting Harrison County 42-7 in a high school football season opener on Friday, Aug. 20.
Lawrence County (1-0) thrived on the ground during its 2021 debut, rushing 35 times for 267 yards and six touchdowns during the win over Harrison County.
Alex Strickland led Lawrence County in the season opener, rushing 10 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Following Strickland on the ground for Lawrence County in the opener, Dylan Ferguson, Blue Fletcher, Douglas Hall and Ryan Marcum added one rushing touchdown apiece.
Greenup County will host Lawrence County for its opener in the the 2021 high school football season. The Musketeers have had multiple games canceled due to COVID.
The Bulldogs and Musketeers did not meet during the 2020 high school football season.
COVID continues to force high school football teams around the states to alter their schedules.
Lawrence County has additional regular season games remaining versus Russell, Magoffin County, East Carter, Boyd County, Pike County Central, Belfry, Floyd Central and Raceland.
Kickoff for the Lawrence County-Greenup County football game is set for 7:30 p.m..
