Bulldogs shut out Estill County

LOUISA — Lawrence County shut out Estill County 35-0 in a Class 3A, District 8 game on Friday, Oct. 17.

Dominant Lawrence County recorded its first shutout in the 2025 high school football season.

The Bulldogs took control early, outscoring Estill County 14-0 in the opening quarter.

Quarterback Luke Fetherolf led Lawrence County to the win, completing 10 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

Carlo Chicko led Lawrence County in receiving, finishing with three receptions for 78 yards.

Fetherolf completed at least one pass to six different receivers. Andrew Ratcliff, Kaden Johnson and Gray Derifield each hauled in one touchdown pass reception for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County rushed 29 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Chandler Preece led a balanced rushing attack for the Bulldogs. Preece rushed five times for 28 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, Preece (12 tackles) and Chicko (10 tackles) ranked as Lawrence County’s top two tacklers.

Braxton Davis provided a lift in Lawrence County’s secondary, recording an interception for the Bulldogs.

Kicker Brayden Queen paced Lawrence County on special teams. Queen connected on three extra point kicks for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County is scheduled to host Magoffin County for its final Class 3A, District 8 game in the 2025 high school football season on Friday, Oct. 24.
