Bulldogs rush past Wildcats

LOUISA — Lawrence County rushed past Shelby Valley, winning 49-34 in a non-district game on Friday, Aug. 30.
Lawrence County moved to 2-0 after notching the win.
The Bulldogs carried a lead out of each quarter, outscoring Shelby Valley 21-6 in the opening period.
Lawrence County led 28-12 at halftime.
Remaining ahead in the second half, Lawrence County led 35-18 at the conclusion of the third quarter.
Thriving on the ground, Lawrence County rushed 41 times for 417 yards and seven touchdowns. Three players accounted for all of Lawrence County’s rushing yardage.
Quarterback Luke Fetherolf led Lawrence County on the ground, rushing 10 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
Following Fetherolf in Lawrence County’s offensive attack, running back Cavin Williams rushed 18 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Another productive running back, Kaden Johnson, rushed 13 times for 113 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ win.
Through the air, Fetherolf completed nine passes for 80 yards.
Contributing offensively for Lawrence County, Johnson, Hayden Blagg and Gray Derifield each hauled in multiple receptions.
Defensively for Lawrence County, Fetherolf and Johnson recorded one interception apiece.
Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Perry County Central for its third game in the 2024 high school football season on Friday, Sept. 6.
