Bulldogs roll past Lincoln County

LANCASTER — Lawrence County rolled past Lincoln County 42-6 in the Golden Lion Bowl at Garrard County on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Bulldogs moved to 2-0 after notching the win.

Lawrence County set the tone early, outscoring Lincoln County 21-0 in the opening quarter.

The Bulldogs led 35-0 at halftime and continued to control the second half.

Lawrence County remained ahead 35-0 at the end of the third period.

The Bulldogs thrived offensively and defensively throughout the bowl game.

Lawrence County’s offensive unit piled up rushing yardage. KJ Johnson and Caven Williams delivered two rushing touchdowns apiece for the Bulldogs.

Assisting Lawrence County on the ground, Gray Derifield and Levi Hensley added one rushing touchdown apiece.

Defensively for Lawrence County, Colton McDowell recorded an interception.

The Bulldogs put together another strong performance after defeating Martin County 37-7 in a season opener on Friday, Aug. 21.

Lawrence County is ranked among the top five teams in Class 3A. The Bulldogs contend for various titles regularly.

Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Ashland for its next game on Friday, Sept. 4. The Lawrence County-Ashland game is slated to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
