Bulldogs reach triple digits, defeat Jaguars
Perry scores 1,000th point in district win

EASTERN — Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Floyd Central 101-83 in a 58th District boys’ basketball game on Friday, Jan. 17.
The Bulldogs carried a lead out of each quarter. Finishing strong, Lawrence County outscored Floyd Central 31-17 in the final period.
Lawrence County shot 59.7 percent (20-of-47) from the field. The Bulldogs shot 50.0 percent (11-of-22) from three-point range.
Lawrence County connected on 10-of-19 free throw attempts, shooting 52.6 percent from the foul line.
Gunnar Woods poured in a game-high 40 points and claimed eight rebounds for the Bulldogs. Woods drained eight of 10 three-point field goal attempts.
Joining Woods in double figures for Lawrence County, Kaiden Harris scored 28 points, Hayden Perry netted 12 points and Kaden Johnson posted 10 points.
Reaching a milestone in Lawrence County’s win, Perry scored his 1,000th career point.
Rounding out Lawrence County’s scoring, Luke Fetherolf added seven points and Caden Muncy contributed four points.
Wesley Buck paced Floyd Central, scoring 21 points for the Jaguars.
Providing a double-double for Floyd Central, Lucas Howard scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
As part of a balanced offensive effort for Floyd Central, Dylan Boyd scored 15 points while James Samons and Logan Meade netted 13 points apiece.
Playing out of a reserve role, Christian Johnson added two points for the Jaguars.
