Bulldogs knock off Raiders, 5-3

GRAYSON — Claiming its third straight win, Lawrence County knocked off East Carter 5-3 on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Blake Maynard scored five goals to lead Lawrence County to the win.

Contributing offensively for the Bulldogs in the match, Landon Fairchild, Gavin Wells, Andrew Vinson and Michael Preston each dealt out one assist.

Goalkeeper Ryland Brady paced Lawrence County defensively, recorded 15 saves while holding East Carter to three goals.

Grant Menix scored two goals to pace the Raiders.

Accompanying Menix in East Carter’s scoring column, Caden Tussey netted one goal.

Chipping in offensively for East Carter, Patrick McDavid dished out two assists while Mason McDowell distributed one assist.

Defensively for East Carter, goalkeeper Colin Pennington posted five saves while allowing five goals.

Lawrence County 10, Shelby Valley 0: Lawrence County shut out visiting Shelby Valley 10-0 in a 57th District boys’ soccer match on Monday, Sept. 18.

Blake Maynard scored six goals and dished out one assist to lead Lawrence County to the win.

Along with the leading scorer, Lawrence County’s offensive attack included Landon Fairchild (two goal, one assist), Gabe Vinson (one goal, one assist), Zachary Fannin (one goal), Caden Sweeney (one assist), Boedy Maynard (one assist), Michael Preston (one assist) and Gavin Wells (one assist).
