Bulldogs knock off Panthers

PIKEVILLE — Continuing to win on the road, Lawrence County defeated Pikeville 7-4 on Thursday, April 16.

The Bulldogs outscored Pikeville 5-2 in the sixth inning to claim the victory.

Braxton Davis started on the mound for Lawrence County and earned the win. Davis pitched five and one-third innings and recorded four strikeouts.

Both Eli Caudill and Boedy Maynard pitched in relief for the Bulldogs. Caudill and Maynard combined to record three strikeouts.

Isaiah Coleman pitched four innings in relief for Pikeville and suffered the loss.

Grayson Reed started on the mound for Pikeville and pitched one inning.

In addition to Coleman, Cayden Newsome, Cooper Scott and Tate Jarrell pitched in relief for the Panthers.  

Lawrence County scored seven runs on eight hits. Delivering at the plate for Lawrence County were Maynard (two RBIs), Brady Caudill (two hits, one RBI), Maddox Fletcher (two hits), Max Murriel (one hit, two RBIs), Gray Derifield (one hit, one RBI), Owen Pack (one hit) and Grant Cochran (one hit).  

Reed (one hit, one RBI), Caden Justice (one hit, one RBI), Zach McCoy (one hit) and Bash Ryan (one hit) accounted for Pikeville’s offense. Connecting for an extra-base hit, Reed doubled.
