Bulldogs knock off Knox Central 43-6

LOUISA — Lawrence County knocked off Knox Central 43-6 in the opening round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 3.
The Bulldogs scored first and never faced a deficit during the postseason matchup.
Lawrence County led 7-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter.
After extending its lead during the second quarter, Lawrence County led 22-6 at halftime.
Remaining in control after the intermission period, Lawrence County led 36-6 at the end of the third quarter.
Lawrence County rushed 29 times for 260 yards and six touchdowns. Five different Lawrence County players rushed for positive yardage.
Cody Crum led Lawrence County on the ground, rushing 12 times for 110 yards and one touchdown.
Following Crum in Lawrence County’s offensive attack, Cavin Williams rushed four times for 77 yards and one touchdown.
Reaching the endzone multiple times in Lawrence County’s victory, William McDavid took eight carries for 56 yards and three touchdowns.
Chipping in for Lawrence County on the ground, quarterback Talan Pollock added one rushing touchdown.
Through the air, Pollock completed seven passes for 70 yards.
Delivering as a receiver, Kaden Johnson hauled in two receptions for 39 yards for the Bulldogs.
Defensively for Lawrence County, McDavid, Andrew Ratcliff and Eli Fletcher each recorded one interception.
Providing a lift on special teams for the Bulldogs, kicker Brayden Queen made all five of his extra-point kick attempts.
Lawrence County (8-3) will visit Rockcastle County (10-1) in the second round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 10.
