Bulldogs knock off Blackcats for district win

PRESTONSBURG — Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Prestonsburg 83-63 in a 58th District boys’ basketball game on Friday, Jan. 24.
The Bulldogs moved to 13-5 overall and 4-0 in the 58th District after notching the win.
Lawrence County shot 51.6 percent (33-of-64) from the field. The Bulldogs shot 28.0 percent (seven-of-25) from three-point range.
Lawrence County connected on 10 of 23 free throw attempts.
Kaiden Harris led Lawrence County, scoring 23 points for the Bulldogs,
Finishing directly behind Harris in Lawrence County’s scoring column, Gunnar Woods netted 22 points.
Supplying a double-double for Lawrence County, Hayden Perry posted 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Kaden Johnson (six points), Luke Fetherolf (six points), Caden Muncy (five points) and Isaah Hughes (three points) were also active offensively for the Bulldogs during the district matchup.
