Bulldogs fall to Franklin-Simpson

FRANKLIN — Franklin-Simpson defeated Lawrence County 3-1 on Thursday, April 2.

Brady Delk pitched a complete game for Frankin-Simpson and earned the win on the mound. Delk recorded 11 strikeouts.

Grant Cochran pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and aborted the loss on the mound. Cochran recorded three strikeouts.

Franklin-Simpson scored three runs on eight hits. Delk (one hit, one RBI), Kolton Turner (two hits, one RBI), Carson Kelley (two hits), Liam Heinze (two hits) and Easton Kelley (one hit) were each productive at the plate in Franklin-Simpson’s win. Delk, Turner and Easton Kelley each doubled while Carson Kelley tripled.

Offensively for Lawrence County Gray Derifield, Owen Pack, Max Murriel and Maddox Fletcher each hit safely. Breaking up a shutout, Eli Caudill drove in Lawrence County’s lone run.

Bowling Green 5. Lawrence County 4: Bowling Green outlasted Lawrence County 5-4 on Wednesday, April 1.

Colt Isenberg pitched one inning in relief for Bowling Green and earned the win.

Along with Isenbrg, Hudson Nottmeier pitched in relief for the Purples. Nottmeier’s relief appearance spanned four innings.

Henry Phillips started on the mound for Bowling Green and two pitched two innings.

Braxton Davis started on the mound for Lawrence County and suffered the loss. Davis pitched six and two-thirds innings and struck out one Bowling Green batter.

Another pitcher, Eli Caudill, made a relief appearance for the Bulldogs.

Bowling Green scored five runs on six hits. Bowling Green’s offensive attack included contributions from Isenberg (three hits, one RBI), Nottmeier (one hit), James Yarbrough (one hit, two RBIs), John Mosley (one hit) and Logan Johnson (one RBI).

Lawrence County scored four runs on eight hits. Davis (one hit, one RBI), Brady Caudill (one hit), Eli Caudill (one hit), Gray Derifield (three hits, one RBI), Boedy Maynard (one hit, one RBI), and Owen Pack (one hit) were each active offensively for the Bulldogs.
