Bulldogs fall to Bell County in playoffs’ second round

PINEVILLE — Lawrence County suffered a season-ending setback as Bell County pulled away to win 44-12 in the second round of the KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 15.

Following the loss, Lawrence County exited the 2024 high school football season 8-4.

Quarterback Blake Burnett led Bell County to the win. Through the air, Burnett completed five passes for 97 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Burnett rushed 10 times for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

Bell County thrived on the ground, rushing 49 times for 328 yards and five touchdowns.

Kaleb Miller rushed a team-high 23 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns in the Bobcats’ win.

Aiding Bell County on the ground, Blake Evans added a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Joseph Brigmon hauled in three receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown for the Bobcats.

Defensively for Bell County, Burnett recorded an interception.

Quarterback Luke Fetherolf paced the Bulldogs. Through the air, Fetherolf completed 16 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Fetherolf rushed six times for 43 yards.

Kaden Johnson and Braxton Davis each hauled in one touchdown reception for the Bulldogs.

In the other games played during the second round of the KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs it was Christian Academy-Louisville 49, Mercer County 22; Central 32, Garrard County 7; Hart County 28, Franklin-Simpson 13; Union County 17, Adair County 6; Lexington Catholic 42, East Carter 7; Belfry 21, Rockcastle County 13 and Russell 21, Lloyd Memorial 20.
