LOUISA — Lawrence County edged visiting Johnson Central 7-6 at Randy Keeton Field on Thursday, March 16.

Perennial 15th Region champion Lawrence County notched its first win in the 2023 high school baseball season.

Boedy Maynard earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Contributing on the hill for Lawrence County, Braxton Davis recorded the save.

Eli Fletcher (two hits, two RBIs), Braydan Maynard (two hits, two RBIs), Abner Collinsworth (one hit, one RBI), Will Lafferty (one hit), Jake Derifield (one hit) and Blake Prater (one hit) each contributed at the plate for Lawrence County in the win.

Shelby Valley 7, Lawrence County 3

Shelby Valley managed to upend Lawrence County 7-3 in the Bulldogs’ home opener on Wednesday, March 15.

Jake Derifield suffered the loss on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Offensively for Lawrence County, Dylan Whitt (one hit, two RBIs), Ryan Marcum (one hit, one RBI), Will Lafferty (one hit), Abner Collinsworth (one hit) and Braydan Maynard (one hit) each produced at the plate.

Greenup County 13, Lawrence County 10

Lawrence County came up short as Greenup County won 13-10 in a high school baseball season opener on Monday, March 13.

Pitching in relief, Braxton Davis suffered the loss on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Dylan Whitt led Lawrence County at the plate. Whitt homered and drove in four runs for the Bulldogs.

Along with Whitt, Jake Derifield (two hits), Abner Collinsworth (one hit, one RBI), Eli Fletcher (one hit, two RBIs) and Ryan Marcum (one hit, one RBI) produced at the plate for perennial 15th Region title contender Lawrence County.
