Bulldogs drop game to Golden Eagles

LOUISA — Lawrence County slipped into the loss column as Johnson Central prevailed 86-77 on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Johnson Central shot 60.4 percent (32-of-53) from the field. The Golden Eagles shot 45.0 percent (nine-of-20) from three-point range.

Johnson Central shot 61.9 percent (13-of-21) from the free throw line.

Brayden Shepherd poured in a game-high 35 points for the Golden Eagles. Shepherd made seven of 11 three-point field goal attempts.

Delivering a double-double for Johnson Central, Kyle Rose scored 22 points and claimed 13 rebounds.

Supplying another double-double for Johnson Central, Austin Slone netted 21 points and secured 11 rebounds.

Six players accounted for all of Johnson Central’s scoring. Dawson Montgomery (three points), Mason McKenzie (three points) and Kaleb Callaham (two points) chipped in offensively for Johnson Central, rounding out the Golden Eagles’ scoring.

Lawrence County shot 39.5 percent (30-of-76) from the field. The Bulldogs shot 28.9 percent (11-of-38) from three-point range.

Lawrence County shot 66.7 percent (six-of-nine) from the free throw line.

Gunnar Woods paced the Bulldogs. Nearly recording a double-double for Lawrence County, Woods scored 22 points and collected nine rebounds.

Following Woods in double figures for Lawrence County, Kaiden Harris scored 17 points and Kaden Johnson netted 15 points.

Barely missing double figures, Hayden Perry and Luke Fetherolf posted nine points apiece for the Bulldogs.

Rounding out Lawrence County’s scoring, Caden Muncy chipped in five points.
