Bulldogs drop final regular season game to Raceland

LOUISA — Lawrence County faced a deficit early and was limited offensively as Class 1A title contender Raceland pulled away to win 32-7 in a high school football regular season finale on Friday, Oct. 28.

Logan Lundy led Raceland to the win, completing eight of 13 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown. Producing on the ground as well as through the air for the Rams, Lundy rushed seven times for 47 yards and one touchdown.

Mason Lykins hauled in four receptions for 90 yards and one touchdown to rank as Raceland’s leading receiver.

The Rams rushed 39 times for 223 yards and three touchdowns.

Noah Wallace led Raceland’s rushing attack, gaining 86 yards and scoring two touchdowns via 16 rush attempts.

Contributing defensively for the Rams, Wallace recorded one interception.

Lawrence County rushed 35 times for 115 yards and one touchdown in the loss. Dylan Ferguson paced Lawrence County on the ground, rushing 12 times for 48 yards. Second in rushing for the Bulldogs, Ryan Marcum took nine carries for 28 yards.

Reaching the endzone, William McDavid rushed five times for 22 yards and the Bulldogs’ only touchdown in the setback.

Talan Pollock completed two of eight passes for the Bulldogs. Marcum and Jake Derifield each hauled in one reception for Lawrence County.

Following the regular season finale, Lawrence County quickly turned its attention to the postseason.

Lawrence County is scheduled to host East Carter in the first round of the Class 3A State Playoffs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.
