LOUISA — Lawrence County rushed past Floyd Central 47-7 in a Class 3A, District 8 game at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Field on Friday, Oct. 22.

After claiming the win, Lawrence County improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Class 3A, District 8.

The Bulldogs moved ahead early and gradually pulled away to win convincingly.

Lawrence County led 14-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter. Stretching its lead in the second quarter, Lawrence County added two touchdowns to take a 28-0 lead into halftime.

Lawrence County rushed 28 times for 365 yards and six touchdowns.

Douglas Hall led Lawrence County on the ground, rushing nine times for 149 yards and one touchdown.

Turning in another solid performance for the Bulldogs, Blue Fletcher rushed eight times for 113 yards and four touchdowns.

Contributing to Lawrence County's offensive attack, Lawson Baisden added one rushing touchdown in the Bulldogs' district win.

Providing another score in Lawrence County's winning effort, Alex Strickland returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown.

Defensively, Lawrence County limited Floyd Central to 198 yards.

Quarterback Max Martin led the Jaguars, rushing 10 times for 73 yards and one touchdown. Through the air, Martin completed four of eight passes for 31 yards. Blake Adams followed Martin on the ground for Floyd Central, rushing 14 times for 50 yards.

Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Class 1A title contender Raceland for a non-district game on Friday, Oct. 29.
