Bulldogs defeat Raiders

LOUISA — Lawrence County defeated East Carter 7-1 on Tuesday, April 28.

Longtime rivals Lawrence County and East Carter met for the first time in the 2026 high school baseball season.

The Bulldogs controlled the game. Lawrence County scored first and never trailed. The Bulldogs led 7-0 at the end of the third inning.

Lawrence County held East Carter scoreless for most of the game. East Carter scored its lone run during the top half of the sixth inning.

Grant Cochran pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and earned the win on the mound. Cochran held East Carter to one run on four hits and one walk while recording six strikeouts.

Lawrence County scored seven runs on eight hits. Cochran (one hit, one RBI), Gray Derifield (two hits, one RBI), Braxton Davis (two hits, one RBI), Owen Pack (one hit, one RBI), Boedy Maynard (one hit), Max Murriel (one hit), Brady Caudill (one hit) and Eli Caudill (one hit) each delivered offensively for Lawrence County in its win.  Both Cochran and Pack doubled for the Bulldogs.  

Lawrence County and East Carter aren’t scheduled to meet again in the 2026 high school baseball season.
