Bulldogs defeat Pirates 6-1

LOUISA — Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Belfry 6-1 in a boys’ high school soccer season opener at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

The Bulldogs prevailed in the nightcap of a high school soccer doubleheader.

Aiden Mynhier and Andrew Vinson scored two goals apiece while distributing one assist each for the Bulldogs.

Aiding Lawrence County’s offensive attack, Owen Pack and Caden Sweeney netted one goal apiece.

Instrumental in Lawrence County’s win, Cooper Vinson dished out two assists for the Bulldogs.

Contributing offensively for Lawrence County, Mynhier, Vinson and Jacob Sanabria provided one assist each.

Defensively for Lawrence County, goalkeeper Ryland Brady limited Belfry to one goal. Brady recorded five saves for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County is the defending 15th Region boys’ soccer champion.
