LOUISA — Lawrence County doubled up 15th Region rival Johnson Central 4-2 in a boys’ high school soccer match on Monday, Aug. 21.

Blake Maynard scored four goals to lead Lawrence County to the win.

Andrew Vinson supplied two assists for the Bulldogs.

Aiding Lawrence County in its win, Owen Pack distributed one assist.

Goalkeeper Ryland Brady paced Lawrence County defensively, recording six saves while limiting Johnson Central to two goals.

Mason Walker and Brayden Staniford netted one goal apiece for Johnson Central in the match.

Chipping in offensively for the Golden Eagles, Walker and Bryce Ferguson pushed out one assist apiece.

Defensively for Johnson Central, goalkeeper Peyton Davis recorded 14 saves while allowing four goals.

Johnson Central 5, Pikeville 2: Returning to the win column, Johnson Central defeated Pikeville 5-2 in a boys’ high school soccer match on Thursday, Aug. 24.

Brayden Staniford scored three goals to lead Johnson Central to the win.

Following Staniford’s hat trick for the Golden Eagles, Bryce Ferguson and Mason Walker added one goal apiece.

Gavin Webb dealt out two assists for the Golden Eagles.

Contributing for Johnson Central in the key offensive category, Walker, Jarend Zimbleman and Owen Trador added one assist apiece.

Defensively for Johnson Central, goalkeeper Peyton Daniel limited Pikeville to two goals and recorded four saves.

Matthew Mullins (two goals) and Thomas Craney (one assist) provided Pikeville’s offense in the match.

Bryson Collins and Keyton Looney split time at goalkeeper for the Panthers, combining to allow five goals while providing 14 saves.
