Bulldogs defeat Garrard County in bowl game

LANCASTER — Continuing to win, Lawrence County defeated Garrard County 57-30 in the Garrard County Golden Lion Bowl on Friday, Aug. 29.
The Bulldogs moved to 2-0 after registering the win.
Lawrence County led 28-23 at halftime and finished strong.
Several players contributed to Lawrence County’s convincing victory.
Lawrence County amassed 640 yards of total offense.
Quarterback Like Fetherolf led Lawrence County to the win, completing 17 passes for 300 yards and five touchdowns.
Gray Derifield emerged as Lawrnce County’s leading receiver, finishing with six receptions for 171 yards and three touchdowns.
Contributing through the air, Kaden Johnson and Carlo Chicko added one touchdown pass reception apiece for the Bulldogs
Lawrence County rushed 35 times for 340 yards and three touchdowns. Cavin Williams paced Lawrence County on the ground, rushing 11 times for 147 yards and one touchdown.
Following Willams, Fetherolf rushed seven times for 103 yards and one touchdown.
Chipping in on the ground, Johnson rushed four times for 35 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively for Lawrence County, Chicko recorded a team-high 10 tackles and two tackles for losses.
Behind Chicko, Johnson tallied eight tackles and one tackle for a loss.
Lawrence County is scheduled to host Ashland for its home opener at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.
