Bulldogs defeat Franklin-Simpson 7-3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Bryce Blevins pitched Lawrence County past Franklin-Simpson 7-3 at the Cal Ripken Experience on Sunday, April 3.
Blevins hurled a complete game, allowing only one earned run on six hits and and one walk while recording 15 strikeouts. With the win, Blevins, who has signed with Marshall University, moved to 3-0 in the 2022 high school baseball season.
Luke Richardson suffered the loss on the mound for the Wildcats. Richardson pitched four innings, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks while recording four strikeouts.
Brevin Scott closed out the game on the mound for Franklin-Simpson, pitching the final three innings.
Blevins, Abner Collinsworth, Grover Maynard and Luke Patton each doubled for the Bulldogs. Adding to Lawrence County’s offensive attack, Will Lafferty singled and drove in one run.
Dalton Fiveash paced Franklin-Simpson at the plate, finishing 2-for-4. Fiveash drove in all three of the Wildcats’ runs.
Richardson and Justin Jones each doubled for Franklin-Simpson in the high school baseball matchup.
Lawrence County defeated Franklin-Simpson for its sixth straight win. The Bulldogs improved to 9-1 overall.
