Bulldogs defeat Black Bears in Lawrence County Farm Bureau Bowl

LOUISA — Returning to the win column, Lawrence County defeated Harlan County 35-14 in the Lawrence County Farm Bureau Bowl at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 20.
Lawrence County improved to 3-1 after notching the win.
Following the loss, Harlan County dropped to 1-3.
Lawrence County scored first and never trailed. The Bulldogs led 7-0 at the end of the opening quarter.
Lawrence County quickly extended its lead in the second period. The Bulldogs led 35-0 at halftime.
Luke Fetherolf paced the Bulldogs. Through the air, Fetherolf completed 10 passes for 100 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Fetherolf rushed five times for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Andrew Ratcliff reeled in five receptions for 44 yards and two touchdowns to pace Lawrence County’s receivers.
Behind Ratcliff, Carlo Chicko delivered four receptions for 43 yards and one touchdown in Lawrence County’s win.
Following Fetherolf’s top rushing performance in the Bulldogs’ victory, Chandler Preece took 10 carries for 56 yards and one touchdown.
Brayden Queen provided a lift on special teams for the Bulldogs. Queen connected on each of his five extra-point kick attempts.
Defensively for Lawrence County, Gray Derifield recorded an interception.
Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Estill County for its Class 3A, District 8 opener on Friday, Sept. 27
