Bulldogs compete in Lexington for state Tennis Tournament
By Braxton Davis
The Lawrence County High School Boys Bulldog Tennis Team headed to the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen State Tennis Tournament on June 3rd to compete. The Dawgs had some great success this season and carried that on into the 15th Region Tournament. The Dawgs went on to win the Region and qualified to go on to Lexington for the State Tournament.
The Bulldogs sent seven boys to Lexington to compete in the tournament. For singles the Bulldogs had Sophomore Chase Kendrick, Junior Alex DeSario and Senior Andrew Vinson. And for the Duos section the Dawgs had Juniors Cayden Sweeney and Aiden Mynhier on a team, and Seniors Ryland Brady and Gavin Wells on a team.
The Dawgs were matched up in Round 1 against the Region 13 winner which was Corbin. It was a tough task for the Dawgs and they fell short in Round 1. Seniors Ryland Brady and Gavin Wells ended the season on a great note, with a win in the 1st round. But unfortunately, this win wasn’t enough to push the Bulldogs past Round 1. This matchup in Lexington concluded a great overall season for the Bulldogs.
