Bulldogs beat West Carter, East Carter for back-to-back wins

LOUISA — Lawrence County swept former 16th Region foes West Carter and East Carter for back-to-back boys' high school basketball wins Friday, Dec. 10-Saturday, Dec. 11.
The Bulldogs beat West Carter in a home game before defeating East Carter on a neutral court.
Lawrence County 70, West Carter 51
Lawrence County pulled defeated visiting West Carter 70-51 on Friday, Dec. 10.
The Bulldogs shot 47.5 percent (29-of-61) from the field. Lawrence County hit five of 20 three-point field goal attempts.
Trenton Adkins scored 16 points to lead the Bulldogs. In addition to Adkins reaching double figures for Lawrence County, Cody Maynard netted 12 points and Andrew Bloomfield tossed in 11 points.
Nearly reaching double figures for the Bulldogs in the win, Anthony Johnson scored nine points and Will Lafferty eight points.
Lawrence County 81, East Carter 61
Lawrence County pulled away to defeat East Carter 81-61 in the Boyd County Roundball Classic on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Cody Maynard poured in a game-high 35 points to lead Lawrence County to the win. Maynard finished four of eight from three-point range.
Lawrence County shot 48.5 percent (32-of-66) from the field. The Bulldogs shot 53.3 percent (eight-of-15) from three-point range.
Lawrence County shot 64.3 percent (nine-of-14) from the free throw line.
Following Maynard in scoring for Lawrence County, Anthony Johnson netted 16 points.
Recording a double-double for the Bulldogs, Trenton Adkins scored 13 points and hauled in 11 rebounds.
