Bobcats no match for balanced Bulldogs

LOUISA — Lawrence County dominated in a 58th District boys’ basketball opener, defeating Betsy Layne 84-41 on Friday, Dec. 5.
With the win, Lawrence County moved to 3-0 overall.
Lawrence County carried a lead out of each quarter. The Bulldogs led 57-27 at halftime.
Lawrence County made seven three-point field goals in its win.
The Bulldogs shot 70 percent (seven-of-10) from the free throw line.
Lawrence County received scoring from nine different players. Kaiden Harris scored a game-high 17 points for the Bulldogs. Accompanying Harris in double figures for Lawrence County, CJ Waller scored 12 points, Hayden Perry netted 11 points, and Andrew Ratcliff tallied 10 points.
Finishing in single digits, Caden Muncy (nine points), Luke Fetherolf (eight points), Kaden Johnson (eight points), Isaah Hughes (five points) and Grant Cochran (four points) contributed to Lawrence County’s offensive attack.
Braydon Hall scored a team-high 11 points for the Bobcats. Finishing directly behind Hall in Betsy Layne’s scoring column, Chandler Coleman netted 10 points.
The other scorers for Betsy Layne were Cooper Justice (seven points), Ethan Lance (six points), Isaiah Allen (three points), Caden Hall (three points) and Canyon Slone (one point).
