PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Lawrence County shut out Notre Dame Academy (Ohio), a team out of Toledo, 10-0 at The Ripken Experience on Thursday, April 2.
Taylor Blevins pitched a four-hit shutout for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Blevins, who is among the top high school softball pitchers in Kentucky, recorded her 700th career strikeout. She posted seven strikeouts in her latest outing.
Reigning 15th Region softball champion Lawrence County pushed across seven runs over its last three at bats to pull away to win convincingly.
The Lady Bulldogs scored 20 runs on 11 hits. Blevins (one hit, one RBI), Brinley Baisden (two hits, two RBIs), Emalynn Kitts (two hits, one RBI), Addalyn Woods (two hits), Aleaha Gillispie (two hits), Jada Patton (one hit) and Gracie Woods (one hit) each provided a lift offensively for the Lady Bulldogs. Displaying power at the plate, Baisden homered.
Lawrence County compiled a 2-2 record at The Ripken Experience.
