Balanced Cardinals beat Rebels 84-49

INEZ – Remaining in the win column, Martin County beat visiting Tolsia (W.Va.) 84-49 in a boys' high school basketball game on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Martin County shot 56.9 percent (37-of-65) from the field in the victory. The Cardinals shot 42.9 percent (nine-of-21) from three-point range.

Four different Martin County players reached double figures in scoring.

Jordan Dalton paced Martin County, scoring 17 points for the Cardinals.

In addition to Dalton reaching double figures for Martin County, Dawson Mills netted 11 points while Luke Hale and Jacob Sturgell added 10 points apiece.

Contributing offensively for the Cardinals, Blake Maynard and Peyton Davis added eight points apiece.

Martin County is scheduled to visit Tolsia for another boys' high school basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 22.
