Area student-athletes earn KSCA Academic All-State honors

LEXINGTON — Area student-athletes have earned Academic All-State honors from the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association (KSCA).

To be named First Team All-Academic, a player must have a 3.75-4.0 GPA.

To be named Second Team All-Academic, a player must have a 3.50-3.74 GPA.

To be named Honorable Mention All-Academic, a player must have a 3.25-3.49 GPA.

Grades are based on cumulative weighted GPAs through the 2021 fall semester.

The area Academic All-State honorees are:

• Lawrence County: Kensley Feltner (First Team), Ella Fitzpatrick (Honorable Mention).

• Johnson Central: Clara Blair (First Team), Jaden Bowling (First Team), Macy Conley (First Team), Chloe Dyer (First Team), Claire Gamble (First Team), Kendal Hall (First Team), Maddie Vaughn (First Team), Kaleigh Welch (Honorable Mention), Abigail Williams (First Team).

• Magoffin County: Rylie Castle (First Team), Makenna Jordan (First Team), Katie Howard (First Team), Jaylynn Lafferty (First Team), Katie Roberts (Second Team).
