LOUISA – Lawrence County notched wins over Belfry and 58th District rival Floyd Central in the Kentucky 2A, Section 8 Girls' Basketball Tournament.
After defeating Floyd Central, Lawrence County advanced to meet Rowan County in the sectional title game.
Lawrence County 74,
Floyd Central 55
Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Floyd Central 74-55 in the semifinals of the 2A, Section 8 Girls' Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 8.
Kensley Feltner poured in a game-high 41 points to lead Lawrence County to the win. Feltner hit 15-of-25 shots from inside the arc.
Registering a double-double for Lawrence County, Kaison Ward scored 15 points and claimed 11 rebounds.
Lawrence County, which forced Floyd Central to play from behind in each quarter, shot 44.1 percent (30-of-68) from the field.
Jada Johnson recorded a double-double to lead Floyd Central, scoring 16 points and hauling in 10 rebounds.
Joining Johnson in double figures in scoring for the Jaguars, Kennedy Harvel scored 14 points and Natalie Holle netted 11 points.
Behind Holle, Kamryn Shannon chipped in eight points for Floyd Central in the setback.
Riley Compton did not score for Floyd Central but grabbed 11 rebounds.

Winning in the opening round of the 2A sectional girls' basketball tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 4, Lawrence County beat Belfry 65-55.
Lawrence County shot 41.5 percent (22-of-53) from the field in the victory. The Bulldogs shot 60.7 percent (17-of-28) from the free throw line.
Kensley Feltner scored a game-high 31 points to lead Lawrence County to the win.
Providing a double-double for Lawrence County, Kaison Ward added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Nearly reaching double figures in Lawrence County's win, Sophie Adkins netted nine points.
Cushi Fletcher and Linzee Phillips scored 13 points apiece for Belfry in the setback. Accompanying Fletcher and Phillips in double figures for the Pirates, Kyra Justice netted 10 points.
