“Ghosts of the Big Sandy River” is based on locations in Louisa and Fort Gay, W.Va. Slone’s character, Clayton Hall, along with his brother, Scott, and his cousin, JayLynn, will find adventures all alongside the Big Sandy River, discovering a well -kept town secret that makes the locals very unhappy with their discovery.
After the three kids make a wish at the river to see ghosts and spirits, things begin to happen and lead them on some grand adventures.
Film crews will also be in Lawrence County for a week during the month of October to film “Vorhees Night of the Beast,” which will be shot in the Yatesville Lake area.
Zeb Slone, 14, is the son of Louisa Mayor,Harold Slone and his wife, Marsha, who are both very supportive of his career. His mother has on occasion also made appearances in some of the films in which her son has also appeared.
Marsha Slone said that her son comes to life in front of a camera and that he considers acting fun, not work.
She said her son began his career in church, school plays and programs and that he has a variety of interests, but that he comes alive on the screen.
Zeb Slone, a freshman at Lawrence County High School, also enjoys swimming and is a member of the local swim team. He is an active member of his local Boy Scout troop, where he loves to camp, hike and work on his Merit Badge requirements. He is also a percussionist in the Lawrence County High School Marching Band and involved in the 4-H Teen Club.
“A few years ago, Zeb decided to pursue a more professional career in acting,” his mother said. “He loves being in front of the camera and is a whiz at script memorization.”
She said that her son enjoys playing different roles and that he has done several in feature films, short films, on stage and in some music videos and commercials.
“He has gotten the opportunity to meet some famous actors/actresses like Jon Voight, Anna Hutchinson, Charlene Tilton as well as Grammy award-winning musicians Delbert McClinton and Larry Cordle,” Marsha Slone said.
Some of his recent film roles include Joseph Penny in the film “1665,” Todd Wilson in “Fifth Hollar,” Maxwell Gunn in “ParaGenex,” Nathaniel Quinn in “The Shrew,” Corporal “Peach Fuzz” Hess in “Heroes Immortal” and Jack Holland in “Louisa.”
Marsha Slone also said that her son has another busy year lineup with some “incredible projects.”
A few roles he will play include Young Abel in an upcoming Amazon mafia mini-series “The Pure and the Damned,” the creepy boy in the woods in the fan film “Vorhees Night of the Beast” and young Tom Lexington in a feature film “Thandi’s Love.”
Marsha Slone said her son’s “most exiting” role is in “Ghosts of the Big Sandy,” which begins filming in
June 2022.
“We are excited to see where the journey leads,” she said. “So far, it’s been an amazing adventure.”
