Louisa man arrested on child porn charges

LOUISA — Kentucky State Police Post 14 arrested a Lawrence County man Sept. 23 on child pornography charges.
Phillip A. Webb, 34, of Louisa, is charged with distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under the age of 12 and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Kentucky State Police said in a release issued Thursday that Webb was taken into custody after an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation was conducted.
KSP Post 14 and the Ashland Police Department began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child exploitation online. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Louisa on Sept. 23, when he was arrested. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and will be taken to Ashland Police Department for examination. A handgun was also found in Webb’s bedroom, the release said, and his criminal history revealed he is a convicted felon.
The investigation is ongoing by Det. David Boarman.
Webb was taken into custody and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.
