Warfield man charged after stealing truck, running from police

LOUISA — A Martin County man was arrested in Fort Gay, W.Va., after leading police on a chase through Lawrence County.

Aaron Blake Justice, 28, of Warfield, is charged with reckless driving; first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle; second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot; no operator’s moped license; second-degree criminal trespassing; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substance, aggravating circumstance; first-degree wanton endangerment; receiving stolen property under $10,000; drug paraphernalia-buy/possess; two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; importing heroin; and first-degree bail jumping.

Lawrence County Deputy Mason Keefer said in the report that he received a call from West Virginia to be on the look out for a green 1997 Chevy Silverado stolen from the Marathon station on Rt. 52 outside of Fort Gay.

Officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Louisa Police Department located the vehicle on Ky. 644 turning onto Meadowbrook Lane.

Justice refused to comply with officer’s signal to stop and fled through the Meadowbrook area towards downtown, the report said.

LPD officers deployed a tire deflation device as Justice got to the bridge, the report said, Justice’s vehicle was disabled and stopped at Community Trust Bank in Fort Gay, where a foot pursuit began.

Justice was apprehended without further incident, and the case remains under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.

The Wayne County, W.Va., Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the incident.
