PAINTSVILLE — A Johnson County man was arrested after Paintsville police responded to a complaint of a man being in a 16-year-old girl’s bedroom.

Adam D. Conley, 45, of Paintsville, is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading on foot; menacing; failure to appear; resisting arrest; harassment, physical contact, no injury; and second-degree burglary.

Two Paintsville officers responded to the complaint, and Conley ran out the back door and down the street, the report said. The two officers made contact with Conley, who refused to place his hands behind his back.

Upon speaking with the homeowner and the girl, they both said that they had no knowledge of the Conley being in the residence or any idea of who he was, the report said.

The young girl whose bed Conley was lying in said, “I was sleeping in my bed when a guy lay next to me. I thought it was my dad because it was in a sleeping position. I found he wasn’t and grabbed my phone. He also touched my thigh.”

Conley was taken into custody and transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.
