Credit card fraud, theft top list of Martin County indictments

INEZ — The Martin County Grand Jury returned nine indictments Thursday.
Named in the true bills were:
• Braxton Lafferty, no age or address available, charged with fraudulent use of a credit card over $500 for allegedly defrauding an account registered to the Martin County Housing Authority for the purpose of obtaining money or goods or anything of value, without consent of the cardholder that he was the holder of the specific card, with the unauthorized purchases in the amount of $8,679.84, from Dec. 7, 2012 through Dec. 31, 2014.
• Garry Lafferty, 67, and his wife, Elyonna Lafferty, 59, both of Inez, charged with theft by unlawful taking under $10,000/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, exercising control over $8,679.84 in monies with the intent to deprive the Martin County Housing Authority from Dec. 7, 2012 through Dec. 31, 2014.
• Destiny Moore, 30, of Inez, charged with third-degree assault of a social services worker and third-degree assault of a police/probation officer, for allegedly physically assaulting or attempting to assault social worker Donald Setser and a Martin County Deputy, William Lafferty while they were working in their official capacity on Jan. 24.
• Christopher Maynard, 39, and Marcella Moore, 60, both of Pilgrim, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance/complicity and drug paraphernalia/complicity for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and an altered straw on Dec. 2, 2021.
Moore is additionally charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving for allegedly possessing suboxone and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a roadway in a reckless manner.
• Robin Hinkle, 44, of Inez, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Oct. 27, 2021.
• Joshua Scott, 35, of Debord, charged with two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, third-degree possession of a controlled substance,all-terrain vehicle violation and prescription of a controlled substance not in the proper container for allegedly possessing methamphetamine, heroin, an altered straw, multiple baggies, three syringes and suboxone; operating an all-terrain vehicle upon a roadway; and possessing a controlled substance without it being in the administered container on Nov. 19, 2021.
• Kody Allen Endicott, 27, of Inez, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and driving on a DUI-suspended license for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and an altered straw and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway while his operator’s license had been suspended on Nov. 9, 2021.
