A Martin County woman who was indicted in Lawrence County on a stolen firearm charge was arrested Friday, July 18 and now faces a new felony charge after threatening to kill the Martin County Sheriff and one of his deputies.
According to an arrest report, Angeleah Maynard, 35, of Inez, was taken into custody by Deputy Steven Putman around 8 p.m. on Blacklog Road.
Maynard was wanted on an indictment in Lawrence County for stealing a firearm and also charged with being a persistent felony offender.
However, while trying to execute the arrest, Maynard continuously told the deputy she would “have him killed”.
According to the report she also threatened to kill Martin County Sheriff James Kirk and his children when she was released from jail.
“I will not miss and I will snipe,” said Maynard.
After allegedly making these remarks against the sheriff and deputy, a new charge was given to Maynard making her arrest not only for the bench warrant but also terroristic threatening 2nd degree (subject conduct to prepare/carry out act).
She was lodged in Big Sandy Regional Detention Center with a bond of $25,000 for the new charge, $5,000 for the indictment and $1,000 on one of the bench warrants.
She also has two bench warrants related to felony charges in Hardin County.
