Seven True Bills handed down by Martin County Grand Jury

The Martin County Grand Jury handed down seven true bills as they met in session this later month.

Among those indicted were:

•Barbara Jean Gordon, 45, of Debord, who was charged with (2) counts of possession of a controlled substance 1st degree when on May 4, she committed the offense of unlawfully being in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

•John Pack, 39, of Kermit, WV, was charged with importing fentanyl/carfentanil, trafficking in the 1st degree, trafficking in a controlled substance in the 1st degree, trafficking in marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, when on March 6, he committed the offense of unlawfully transported any quantity of fentanyl into the Commonwealth of Kentucky by any means with the intent to sell or distribute. Pack also committed the offense of being in possession of .967 grams of fentanyl, 18.302 grams of cocaine, less than 8 ounces of marijuana, $235, small plastic baggies, a syringe and a digital scale with the intent of trafficking.

•Dennis Swisher, 71, of Warfield, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree, trafficking in marijuana when on April 16, he committed the offense of trafficking in (7) dosage units of hydrocodone, (13) dosage units of gabapentin less than 8 ounces of marijuana and $12,963 in cash with the intent to traffic.

In a separate indictment Swisher was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon when on April 16, he was found to be in possession of a Hi Point brand .22 caliber hand gun after been previously convicted of a felony in Martin County Circuit Court.

•Kandy Leigh Wagner, 41, of Baltimore, MD, was charged with promoting contraband 1st degree when on May 4, she unlawfully committed the offense of introducing, obtaining, or possessing dangerous contraband into a detention facility or penitentiary namely U.S. Penitentiary, Big Sandy located in Martin County.

•Shakaree D. Carter, 24, of Lexington, was charged with unlawful transaction in the 1st degree, promoting contraband in the 1st degree, possession of marijuana, when on April 19, she unlawfully committed the offense of inducing, assisting, or causing a juvenile child less than (16) years of age to engage in illegal controlled substances other than involving marijuana, or any other criminal activity constituting a felony. Carter also committed the offense of promoting contraband by introducing, obtaining or possession (15) units of suboxone dosage units and being in possession of marijuana.

•Brian Howell, 45, of Inez, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia when on April 27, he committed the offense of unlawfully being in possession of methamphetamine, (4) dosage units of klonopin, marijuana and a syringe.
