Three people indicted in Martin County May session

The Martin County Grand jury indicted three people during their Thursday May, 1 session.

Among those indicted was Joe Allen Evans, 51, of Inez.

Evans was charged with intimidating a participant in the legal process a class D felony with a penalty of 1-5 years and a fine of not more than $10,000.

The indictment states that on February 27, Evans committed the offense of intimidating a participant by knowingly and unlawfully attempting to influence or direct the potential testimony or the opinion of a witness in a legal proceeding in which he is named the defendant in Martin County Circuit Court.

The case of which Evans was indicted back on Feb. 6, on charges of assault in the second degree (domestic violence) and persistent felony offender when he intentionally committed the offense of causing physical injury to Vicky Venturino, by means of a deadly weapon or instrument.

•Dotty Fletcher, 59, of Inez, was charged with wanton endangerment in the first degree when on Nov. 15, 2024, she committed the offense of unlawfully engaging in conduct which created a substantial danger to a juvenile child.

•Ronald Joseph Wrightsel, 77, of Tomahawk, was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon when on Dec. 12, 2024, he committed the offense of unlawfully being in possession of a Harrington-Richardson 22 caliber/mag revolver after having been convicted of multiple felony convictions from the state of Ohio.
